Intimidade II (Intimacy II) places a woman’s face behind a flurry of white doves, so that only part of her features remains visible. Behind her, the background is filled with blue, white and yellow patterned tiles inspired by Portuguese azulejos. The work is presented in a dark wooden frame.

In this piece of the Intimidade series, Ritchelly Oliveira sets his charcoal drawing against a painted decorative pattern, a direct nod to the tile tradition of Portugal and Brazil. The doves both shelter and conceal the sitter, an ambiguity the artist leaves deliberately unresolved.

Unique work, charcoal and acrylic on canvas, 100 × 60 cm (39.4 × 23.6 in). Born in Brazil in 1993 and trained in Visual Arts at the Federal University of Goiás, Ritchelly Oliveira has worked with the human figure since 2012. His work has been exhibited in Goiânia, Berlin, Miami, New York and Los Angeles, including the solo exhibition Fragility at La Brea Studio in 2023, and has appeared in international art publications such as Beautiful Bizarre.
