The skull, not as vanity but as a metaphor for the evolution of man. Transformed, deformed, Richard Orlinski’s skull raises the question of the meaning of this evolutionary process: progression or dehumanization? The removal of the mandible announces the regression of man by the suppression of language. The expansion of the parietal lobe limits the frontal part where the centers of the most evolved thought reside. This moving sculpture calls out to us about the meaning and the future of humanity.
